Messages and Pictures from Joel during China visit
Message from Yahoo message boards. 12/14/2011
"Thanks to everyone for all the appreciation. i am at the Shanghai airport right now and just missed my flight back to Hong Kong, so I am rebooking direct from here back to the US. I didn't manage to see Harbin, but I now have an itinerary back to China after Chinese New Year.
THE PICTURE TO THE LEFT is me on a hillside overlooking the new complex in Dongguan City where the smaller and medium batteries are made. It is really immense with dormitories and staff dining areas, recreational facilities and green space as described in previous press releases by ABAT. Some were honestly doubting (myself included) because of the the resolution of photos and editing, so now doubts have been dispelled. The facility has an aggregate floor space of 50,000 square meters, including an R&D center of 5,000 square meters. The designed production capacity of this factory is 800,000 Ah daily.
For pictures of Harbin and Wuxi, which are located respectively in the cities of Harbin and Wuxi, you can click below. The depth of field of the pictures is a little hard to see, but if you look closely you can see how enormous they are. . .

I really appreciate all the accolades and all your messages made things much easier here and did not go unnoticed. I am in the same boat as a lot of folks here and that is why I came to check it out for myself, but I am feeling much happier now and looking forward to a good holiday season. I was equally pleased with what I saw today at Wuxi. Take a look at the picture of Wuxi on the website.http://wuxi.zqpt.com/en/News/ShowInfo.aspx?ID=19 THIS IS WHERE THE SCOOTERS AND ELECTRIC BIKES ARE MADE. Here are some of the certificates for 2 of the most popular scooters. http://wuxi.zqpt.com/en/News/InfoList.aspx?CategoryID=2
See that depth in the field of the complex. . It is real. The length of that complex is about 6 or 7 football fields. Somehow the picture doesn't convey how huge those complexes are. The workers seem happy and productive living there and randomly zooming around on those Segway like carts. The assembly lines are working well with a daily output capacity of about 1800 scooters and bikes per day on a "made to order" basis for countries that many of us have never been to, but are good customers nonetheless. I saw a lot of camaraderie and well-being among the workers. Yet, they were working with focus and efficiency. I would rest easy with your investments. If all of us post real legitimate info on this company, it will help us get back to the pre-VVR report. I do think we need to fight back fire with fire. I will review the YouTube video that was posted by them last year as I can now see how much of it was an absolute lie. It had a big effect on my level of skepticism, but at the same time something didn't feel right about it, so I held on, especially knowing that they were short. One thing that I recalled today when I was visiting Wuxi (pronounced Wushi) was the memory of when the faceless man in the video said "the factories were a joke". Maybe, he was there on a Sunday or not at all, but when I was there, I saw scooters and bikes coming off the assembly line efficiently. And yes, I saw trucks leaving the plant with scooters to be delivered. I have to review the annual reports and quarterlies to see if the numbers match up, so if someone would post that info, it will make it easier for me to check. Also, if someone can do a solid valuation of share price based on the assumption that the numbers as reported are true, then we can see were we are headed. (I did this on the plane ride home and based on about only 300 scooters per day rolling of the assembly line the numbers do correspond with the number in last year's annual report--details to follow.)
Thanks for all your help. I encourage everyone to go their favorite Chinese restaurant, learn a little Chinese such as Hello and Thank you and share their fortune cookies with the board. More videos and pics to come. Here is the latest post from the ABAT website on the Opening Ceremony which was also covered by one of the newspapers in Hong Kong. http://www.zqpt.com/en/News/ShowInfo.aspx?ID=54
ABAT was accused of creating fictitious distributorships by VVR and Eiad of Prescience. In time, this allegation will be proven true or false. However, at this time this author feels and believes that it is actually VVR and Eiad that created the fiction at least in regard to the distribution channels. The video from July 2011 showing a scooter purchased from a distributor in Chino, CA which the Prescience and VVR claimed did not exist. In my opinion, they both got it wrong and were incorrect about their claim that ABAT did not have certain distributorships, so I have to wonder what else in their assessment is untrue. The anonymous person being interviewed by Eiad claimed the factory's were a joke and consisted of 4 empty walls, but I did not find this to be true when I visited Wuxi in December of 2011. Furthermore the person in the video could not remember if he was there in 2008 or 2009 which is relevant because Wuxi was purchased in May of 2009. So perhaps he was there before it was purchased or during a change over.
It seems to me that there are enough distributorships worldwide to validate the revenue that was reported in ABAT's 10k from 2010 of approximately 50 million with 90,000 sales. .For further info, see the Chinese Short Charade website http://www.chineseshortcharade.com/ which details 20 different distributorships that sell ABAT or ABAT rebranded bikes. If these distributorships exist, which apparently they do, then I believe that the writers of those reports that hurt so many investors should not only be ashamed of themselves, but should also issue a public retraction of their erroneous and injurious comments.
Happy Holidays and may 2012 bring clarity to Advanced Batteries Investors. . .
On November 23, 2011 Chairman Fu issued a letter to the shareholders concerning the events of 2011 with a closing statement in a sense to do what is right and reward the loyal shareholders. The letter can be viewed here. . . http://www.zqpt.com/en/News/ShowInfo.aspx?ID=52
By the way, this letter is not buried somewhere in the site but as attached to the floating blue banner on ABAT's website. It has been there for about a month. Previously the floating blue banner led to a different news piece about a partnership Advanced Battery had with a cell phone maker. The company is often accused by shareholders on the message board of not releasing enough press releases, but my view is that they say what they want to say and they don't repeat themselves. Time will tell if this optimistic comment by Mr. Fu will come to pass as it did with at least one other Chinese company that was accused of fraud and made the decision to stop exposing themselves to the risks of public markets and naked short selling. and "research reports". It seems to me he was saying, things will be alright, it will just take time.
